This is a live version of "Welcome to the new Millennium".
The story behind this was that a bunch of stuff that was dragging me down for years had been lifted off my shoulder, and I really was approaching the future with a certain amount of happy anticipation. These feelings rolled around in the back of my head, got processed, and then came out as a song a few years later.
I think it's really interesting to listen to "What you own" from Rent (which is pretty much my favorite song from the musical) and then this.
